I knew I would not be able to attend the Greater Bemidji Area Joint Planning Board meeting Wednesday night, so I planned the next-best option: the DVR.
Of course, I got stuck at work longer than I thought Wednesday as I worked on a few follow-up stories from Tuesday’s primary election.
So I walked in the door at home at about 6:30 p.m., greeted the family and noticed that “Dora the Explorer” was on TV, which reminded me that it was after 6 p.m. (the time JPB meetings begin).
I turned on Channel 2 at exactly 6:34 p.m., just in time to hear JPB member Roger Hellquist say, “My motion stands.”
This just wasn’t my week: I unexpectedly had to skip Monday’s council work session and I didn’t feel well enough Tuesday to vote, much less go to work, so I missed out on all of the fun of covering the primary election process.
Hopefully next week is better.
